Perm presents several investment projects at the 7th International Investment Forum in the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi September 19-21.

The main objective of the 7th Investment Forum was to discuss Russia's investment opportunities and large-scale investment projects in the country, including the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

Other discussion topics included special economic zones, the setting up of gambling areas, and the possibilities of partnership between the government and private business.

Most roundtable discussions focused on the development of Russia's transport infrastructure, low-rise construction, the modernization of the communal and utility sector, investments in agriculture, insurance, and tourism.

Perm also was among the 60 participants of the Investment Forum. Perm Krai delegation was headed by the governor Oleg Chirkunov. Perm City delegation headed by the First Deputy City Manager Anatoly Makhovikov presented several investment projects regarding housing construction and development of built-up areas: private housing construction (4 lots, 77 ha), commercial property (13 lots, 100 ha), and 14 lots for built-up area development.

Perm gained some very good results from its participation in the Forum. One of them - signing of a contract with a nonprofit partnership the Guild of Property Managers and Developers, Commercial and Industrial Real Estate.

The Guild of Property Managers and Developers of Commercial and Industrial Real Estate is a professional association of managment and development companies, counting over 160 companies from Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Russian regions.

The mission of the Guild is to create conditions for most efficient and dynamic development of commercial and industrial real estate in order to facilitate the growth of economy, industrial potential and investment attractiveness of Russia.

"We are entering a whole new level involving not only major Russian cities, but also rural towns. Still Perm is quite a big city, it offers numerous opportunities for collaboration and investment," said Pavel Goncharov, General Manager of the Guild.

According to Anatoly Makhovikov, the contract will open new ways for contacts with large Russian and foreign developers. "We have just started our interaction. Among the first steps - training seminars, discussion grounds for our businesses, business structures of Central Russia, and foreign investors. Our goal is to attract as many investors into our region as possible," added Makhovikov.
